21st Annual Rising Sun Navy Bean Fall
Festival
Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 2008
The Rising Sun Ohio
County Chamber of Commerce and the Navy Bean Fall Festival Committee
will present the 21st annual Rising Sun Navy Bean Fall Festival Friday,
October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 2008. The Navy Bean Fall Festival,
held in downtown Rising Sun and the Riverfront Park, is one of the
fastest growing family festivals on the banks of the Ohio River.
This year's festival will once again feature rides, an expanded
parade, a variety of live music, a festival queen contest, craft and
vendor booths, food, an antique tractor display and several fun-filled
events. The Festival
Committee is working hard to plan an exciting festival with a
homecoming atmosphere where families can gather in downtown Rising Sun
to enjoy the fall season on the banks of the Ohio River and have lots
of fun.
The highlight of the festival is
the delicious, steaming, homemade navy bean soup and cornbread served
under the “bean soup tent” on the riverbank. This year
because of so many requests we plan to serve bean soup and cornbread on
Friday night and Saturday of the festival until all is consumed. Last
year the Food Committee turned 150 pounds of navy beans into bean soup
and we served it all!”
A mix of live music on
the Main Street Pavilion stage will entertain festival goers on Friday
night and throughout the day on Saturday.

Friday Night's Entertainment - The Kentucky
Headhunters
The Kentucky HeadHunters have sold more than 6
million albums!
Grammy award WINNER for "Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group"
Country Music Association award WINNER for "Vocal Group of the Year" (2
times), "Album of The Year" (Pickin' On Nashville) and Album of the
Year (Production)
Academy of Country Music Award WINNER for "Top New Vocal Duo or Group"
Thirty-six years is a long time
for a band to survive in today's cutthroat music jungle. The secret?
Richard and Fred Young, along with cousins, Anthony Kenney, Greg Martin
and long time friend Doug Phelps, never set out to play music for a
living. They were born to be together and they live to play music. Some
of the Kentucky Headhunters albums have sold in the millions, others in
the thousands. However, one thing remains the same...they are one of a
kind, originals. The music on Flying Under The Radar reflects the broad
musical landscape the Heads have developed over the years. Here's one
from a band that still knows how to keep it flying under the radar.

Saturday's Entertainment - Little
Texas
AMERICA'S
FAVORITE ROCKIN' COUNTRY BAND
Little
Texas was conceived in Nashville, Tennessee, by a handful of guys in
their early twenties who were willing to do just about anything to
bring their brand of rockin’ county to the forefront of the music
industry. Before hitting the big time, the band crisscrossed America
for three long years, playing every bar and honky tonk from Myrtle
Beach, SC, to Los Angeles, CA, all the while writing songs that were
destined to change the sound of modern country, and perfecting a stage
show that has been critically acclaimed worldwide.
Murray Brothers
Amusements
will provide festival rides for all ages. Locations of advanced ride
ticket sales will be
announced in the near future.
